She takes care of breeder referral for the Bichon Frise parent club. She should be able to put you in contact with a breeder or two in your area.

Bichons are amazing! I have one 2 years old she is perfect gets along with all animals, kids and babies, best personality and so smart!
But def dont get from a pet shop- they call them Bichons but they may have a maltese mix which will give you a terrier personality... pure bred is always best! And the prices barely differ now with pet shops giong for the ultimate rip offs on mixed breeds.
Good luck :)

Never purchase a dog from the petstore. Get your dog from a reputable bichon breeder or a rescue. You might be able to find what your looking for on the BFCA (www.bischonrescue.org) or (www.bischon.org).

Go to the American Kennel Club's website, or you might be able to find a phone number for them. They will be able to give you a list of reputable breeders in or around your area. If there are none in your area, you might have to buy one from a reputable breeder and have to have it shipped. If your going to spend the money on a doggie, you deserve to get what you pay for. And just a tip......dont buy from a petstore, they sell from puppy mills and you will end up getting an imbred dog, or one with many health problems

I am SO GLAD you didnt buy from a pet store. Pet stores sell ONLY puppy mill puppies which i am sure you have heard about.
Thanks so much for looking for a breeder. You will be happy you did.
Try a shelter first. They have many bichon rescues in michigan.
