Employers MUST have access to your medical records. What if you get sick or faint while at work? If they don't know what condition(s) you have, how can they treat you until the ambulance arrives? While at work if they KNOW you need to drink, eat, or take medication after a certain number of hours, the department manager will MAKE SURE you get the break time to do that, so you do not have an attack or seizure. If they did not know and asked you to delay your break, it would be YOUR responsibility for withholding the information. An employer, once they hire you, CANNOT discriminate due to a medical condition. If they do, you have a MAJOR lawsuit against them.

What?

Show me just ONE case of someone losing their job OR health insurance because someone else in their family has diabetes? How would their employer know that diabetes runs in their family? They WOULDN'T.

So, I don't know where you are getting this "more than 500 cases..." stuff.
