Most younger women who drink beer drink straight from the bottle. It seems to be the social norm now. I would think the bartender would give you a weird look if you asked for a glass.

I don't think so but some people think so.
It kind of depends on where she is too - if she is in a nice restaurant it would be more appropriate to request a glass (and yes a woman can request beer in a nice restaurant) but if she is in a kicked back relaxed local bar I think it is fine to drink from the bottle.

That pretty much makes 3/4 of the girls in college "unladylike."

Yes, but then, those who do the practice are not proper ladies... at least in my etiquette book! A proper lady doesn't need to even ask for a glass, one is automatically given to her... furthermore, the beer is usually poured FOR the lady, too.

Have a polite day.

I think whether it looks out of place depends more on the situation (in a restaurant or at a party) than whether it's a man or a woman doing it.

I drink mine right out of the bottle. Don't worry what other people think.

You know, I do. I don't know why I do, but I do. Perhaps because with each beer they seem to get more out of control and in people's face. Thats' been my experience anyway.

no. not at all. in fact it makes you look pretentious not doing so. it is different if it's draft, then the glass, but go with the flow and be merry!
