My friend and I need to find a place to volunteer in or around Framingham for a class. We have talked about working at a soup kitchen for a few weeks and had our minds set on it, but it seems like we're working on such a big deadline and the people at the Salvation Army didn't pick up their phone so we're in panic mode now. Does anyone know any group - shelters, churches, etc that have soup kitchens that we can volunteer at in the area? If not, anywhere to volunteer in the area would be fantastic

URGENT REPLY NEEDED

thanks

Volunteer Match has worked for several people. If you had transportation, there are hundeds of places in the city, itself. I used to go to Boston U, where I was very active in the community, and I know Framingham is not that far away.

Use this link. I know it has helped others.

Try the YMCA, I think they have two branches in Framingham and they actually run a volunteer placement program. Perhaps they can give you some advice. http://www.metrowestymca.org/

Hospital or nursing homes are great places to volunteer, also tutoring at the school might be your thing. Glad to hear you a taking up the challenge!
