I'm going to have a first date with someone I've just met very recently, but who could be someone I'd want to have a stable long-term relationship with. As such, I want to take things slow, meaning I want to delay the intimacy as long as possible so we can really get to know whether we're otherwise compatible first. Any tips on the best way to do that while keeping him interested?

If he is truly interested in you, just being next to you will be exciting for him. Holding your hand would be thrilling. Kissing you or touching your hair would have him on edge.

Be clear about your boundaries. You don't need to keep a man "interested". Either he is or he isn't.

Be your sweet self and see what happens.

Good luck

Attraction Explained: Your Social Circle

Our social circle is one of the biggest determining factors in who we meet. Going back a bit, in a 1956 study 70% of married American couples lived within 20 blocks of each other before marriage. Now admittedly that was 1956 and this is now, but the basic principle holds true - you're more likely to find success with someone closer to you than you are someone further way.

So, how do we use this to improve our chances? Simple - we expand our social circle!

1) Network, Network, Network
2) Organise a night out, invite all your friends, tell them to bring friends
3) Join a club. A sports club, a movie club, a dinner club, a sex club - whatever you fancy!
4) Don’t try and jump into an encounter or relationship with every attractive person you meet.
5) Put people in contact with each other.

Personally, I am a guy so I can help. Not all guys want an intimate reationship right from the begining, but SOME do. So, lets say he does want intimacy, personally, I think kissing and hugging is quite fine. This shows you love him and are interested, but your not doing anything too uncompfortable. I think once you get close, you should give him a ******* and a handjob. This will make him go crazy and love you even more. You will have him running back to you always. For a handjob, do it out of now where. Just start rubbing your hand over his groin area through his pants. Hell grow pretty fast and then go somewhere and rub him till he comes, and remember to suck, suck, suck. That will seal the deal and release all of his white sticky appreciation.

LOL @ the comment about the TV shows... I hate when you feel all awkward about that, it was kind of weird to tell this guy that I like that I was watching wrestling, but anyway You'll do fine at dinner! 26 isn't that much older, I think that it is all in your head. Don't let yourself be nervous, just relax and be yourself... If you really like him and he really likes you, it should be effortless to find conversation. He may be able to sense if you are having a little nervous "freak out" and trust me it is embarrassing when they notice you are nervous! and as far as eating goes, when I'm on a date and I meet them for dinner...I always poke the food and kind of push it around, I'm mostly too excited/jittery to eat so it'll be fine that you're a slow eater. Good luck and hope you have a great time!

Obviously, guys do like action and are aggressive at times. Any kind of small act of intimacy that you can do will help. Hold his hand, a kiss on the cheek at the end of the night, a sweet hug, a little wink. All of those things can drive a guy crazy. Don't expect his libido to die down, but, those things help. Also, if you offer to pay for part of the dinner or dessert (if you are going out to eat), I'm sure that would blow him away...although it's not necessary.

I think that you should be rather honest with him and maybe get close to him but going further may make him think of the phrase "Wham bam thank you ma'am." I hate that phrase and moving to fast makes a guy think of a quick fix on sex. So just take it slowly, but show him your interested in him. Always listen and nod. Maybe gesture and show some affection towards him, just ...I understand not wanting to move too fast. Just be geniune.

go for the intimacy as soon as possible just dont have sex (they ARE different) ---- it may not be possible to take the intimacy slow it just depends on the chemistry between you --- if he is interested in you the sex can wait if he is only after the sex then he will lose interest very quickly ---- best wishes
