ok, I have a sty by my eye. It looks a lot like this:
http://medicine.ucsd.edu/Clinicalimg/eyes-sty.jpg
I have had it for a little longer than 1 week. The first 2 or 3 days you couldn't see anything, my eye just looked reddish pinkish, and it felt like someone punched me in the eye. Then it was really itchy. after the 2-3 days passed the pain went completely away, and my eyeball is no longer red; but now I have this sty. I had it for 4 or 5 days. Is this a sty, or something else?? Should I go see a D.R., or just keep putting a hot/damp cloth by my eye?? And how much longer do you think this will last??
PLZ HELP!!!!!! thanks

You know when I was a little girl one of the best things that happened for me was that we lived next to my paternal grandparents and my Grandma June was absoutely full of superstitions. Needless to say, I learned a lot from her, including how to get rid of a stye. What you need to do is go to an empty intersection, stand in the middle of it and say "stye, stye leave my eye, go on the next one that comes by!", and then run like all get out. In a few days the stye will be gone and you'll be wondering who got it. As a last resort you could go to a doctor and probably get medicated eye drops that would clear the affliction up faster than an old Missouri superstition.....and would be a lot safer than standing in the street wishing it on someone else!

I get them every once in a while. This probably sounds a little gross but it works instantly. heat a needle to clean it a just barely touch it and it will leak and wipe it with a tissue and it will be gone. I have told a few people to try it some will not and the others that do find it very easy and not as bad as it sounds. It will then be gone and you will be suprised on how easy and fast it works.

After a week you whould probably get it checked out... if you don't want to keep up with the hot cloth thing (worked for me) but the doc is really the way to go after so long.
Sties suck.

Warm compresses, if this does not work after a few days, go to a doctor. It could progress to something much worse.

Absolutely go see a doctor. Any disease that affects your eyes could be very very dangerous. Make the appointment tomorrow. Just do it.
