no use baking soda if you dont use it your cup cakes will turn out stale and flat!!!!!!!!!!! if you dont have baking powder use tiny bit of yeast mixed with some water (not a whole packet of yeast or you will make a cake lol)(just a little bit like 2-3 pinches of it should work).

have you used self raising flour if you have they should come out okay anyways, if not go and buy some baking powder they will come out much nicer it will prob only be about 60p or so
if you decide to ice them just put icing sugar in bowl then add 4 -6 teas spoons or water to it then mix.
