Randomly on and off throughout the day, I'll start to feel like someone hit me with a 2 by 4 across the stomach/chest when I try to breathe. It's like the I had the wind knocked out of me, but it comes without reason. It makes it hard to breath for several minutes, and my breathing turns really shallow. Any ideas of what it may be?

Don't play around with that kinda stuff, man! Get yer self to the doctor. You can have small heart attacks and not even realize it. Go get checked out and get it taken care of before it takes care of YOU! Good luck, man..

How long does this condition last? How old are you and are you a hypertension patient? If is not then it may be just a simple chostrochondritis (inflammation of the chest wall muscle) other wise check it out with a cardiologist, it may be an angina pain....

YOUR SYMPTOMS CAN BE DUE TO A VARIETY OF THINGS SO ITS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU SEE A DOCTOR. IF YOU HAD THE FLU OR A COLD LATELY THEN THESE SYMPTOMS MAY BE HINTING TO YOU THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MORE SERIOUS GOING ON E.G. A LUNG INFECTION. ALSO STRENUOUS EXERCISE OR EVEN HOLDING A SNEEZE (KNOW THIS FROM EXPERIENCE) CAN CAUSE MUSCLE/TISSUE DAMAGE THAT CAN ALSO BE A CAUSE OF THE DIFFICULTY BREATHING. MY ADVICE IS TO GET IT CHECKED OUT OK. GOOD LUCK
