If you were reading a story about a girl who had a choice between:
--A hott older guy she once had a fling with but he is now with her friend
--A cute guy who cares about her and broke up with her a while ago because he thought she was shy, but he realized his mistake and now regrets it
OR
--A dorky best friend who has liked her the whole story but she doesn't really like him like that

The second one because he acually cares about her the first one sounds like a huge flirt and the second one jsut sounds like ewww no !!!!
YEH the 2nd one i love to erad romance books and thats the more romance tipe of theme u should go with it !!!
Unless hte 3rd one if u make the dorky best friend hot!!!

Because of the fact that the hot older guy has shown what he wants, the cute guy had his chance and made his mistake, and the dork has been there to comfort through all the hurt that the girl has been through, i kno for a fact, he would be best for her. I used to be a dorky best friend, long time ago.

the dork because he'd worship the ground she walks on. I always root for the underdog and it'd keep me in suspense to find out if he wins the girl at the end. Also it creates more opportunities for heartwrenching angst, etc. since a lot of us have had unrequited love in the past. It'd be nice to read a story where the person you least expect to win, get the prize at the end.

2 or 3 Best friends for boyfriends can end really badly so you'd have to like him like that in order for it to work.
