In Borders Books in Knoxville, Tennessee someone asked me if I wanted to go to a "really cool church." Now in a vacant lot in Tucson, Arizona I see a sign that says: "coming soon a cool church." What are they getting at?

I do not want to go to a "cool" church just because it is "cool".I want to go to a Church that teaches the truth. Church should not be about us feeling good but about Jesus.

Therefore, I go to the Catholic Church because it was established by Christ and he is its true leader.
PS The Catholic Church is the "coolest" church in the world because we have Jesus there in spirit and the Eucharist. Can any other Church top that?

It means a church that has relaxed some its rigidity in order to be more accepting by today's people. For the unsaid motive of selling more product, because, after all, church is big business these days. Especially in the states.

I've seen this pitch before too.

You may remember Steven Baldwin (the less talented Baldwin brother) doing this. He preaches to young kids hooking them in with words like "awesome & gnarly".

He visits skate parks & recruits sheepish teens telling them that god's word is "cool" & to save themselves now.

This is an underhanded tactic to brainwash more young people & get them to give up their lives in the name of a cruel & harmful religion.

If what the church had to offer was so great - they wouldn't have to disguise thier intentions with skateboarding & "being cool".

This is the same tactics pedofiles use - offering candy, money & cute animals to children before moving in for the kill.

Probably a church that tries to make people feel good about themselves , instead of preaching the truth that we are all sinners deserving hell , Judgment day is coming and the only way to heaven is through the word of God.

It's marketing. Young people don't typically go to church, so they are an untapped market that needs some incentive to spend an hour on a sunday morning in a sweater.

Yes, it's funny the other day I saw a billboard that said times have changed so has church. All I could think was it is too bad God hasn't changed for them as well. He is the same yesterday today and tomorrow.

They mean air conditioning.

No they mean that a lot of hip young people styled Christian music will be played and the speakers will be able to better hold the interest of the 18-35 crowd.

To obtain your answer, you will have to question everyone who "thinks" his/her church is "cool", since such a designation is a meaningless adjective that must be defined and explained by each individual holding such a thought.

Rap versions of the Psalms, and that cool guitar music that kids like.

It's part of brainwashing the young, to get them into the church where they can complete the job.
