I have my 3 kids names tattooed on me around a claddaugh ring. I also have my husbands name as well .. in the same tattoo. I was married to him for 18 years before I put his name on me.
Hey our oldest son has the same first name ... LOL so I figure I can get away with it if I have to!
Also with kids .. you get mad at them mark them out with a sharpie by the time the sharpie wears off your usually not mad at them anymore ... Words of wisdom to live by from one of our Artists!
We do advise against getting boyfriend/girlfriends names but hey we do nice cover ups if need be. Its a fact of life at the tattoo shop!

Its a personal choice. If you love him that much and you always will no matter what, even if you break up, get it done. Its a way of showing commitment. And I think your tattoo is really pretty! I love it. And your right, tattoos are easy to cover up. People should really start worrying more about themselves. Not others. Sure sometimes its nice, but don't poke you nose into other peoples' business. Its not their choice. ROCK YOUR BODY, GIRL!

I think getting your child's name tattooed on you is sweet, since they'll always be your child. Parents are fine, too. Significant others and friends (unless it's a memorial tatto, I guess) are where it gets kind of edges into possible regret territory. Good luck choosing a design for your tattoo!

Don't get your tattoo about anyone who could leave like boyfriends and stuff because you might love them today, but hate them tomorrow. I hope that doesn't happen to you though. Anyway, I think getting a tattoo of your son's name is fine, but personally, I don't want to get a tattoo ever because it hurts and in the future, I won't want it anymore. Think about health reasons and cleaniness of the salon too. Instead, I would get like a gold necklace with that person's name on it. Just a suggestion, but be sure to pick the cleanest place possible to do yours because you might get an infection afterwards.

i would never get a boyfriend or spouses name..
i would get family or deceased loved ones if i were to get a name of sorts..
however i'm more of a fan on a symbolic tattoo where it represents that person but doesn't just come right out with a name..
i don't see anything wrong with getting your son's name.. he's part of you..

I hate it when people get names of boyfriends/husbands tattooed on them. It's just something that is so wishy-washy. You never know what's going to happen in the future.
I think getting a child's name tattooed on you is perfectly fine though. Your child will ALWAYS be your child. I think it's a completely different story than the boyfriend/husband thing.
I say go for it. It'll make a great tribute to your child. :)

I like it, I have 2 sons and have both their name and date of birth tattooed next to each design.
I think it's a great idea to get your childrens names tattooed on you. I wouldn't recommend getting the spouses name....just incase.
Good luck with it!!

i won't have my fiance's name tattooed on me but i want another butterfly on my back. on each wing i would like to have my brother's 2 sets of twin girls' names. a few people don't like that idea because they are not my children. they think it's weird. i don't only because i am not having any children..ever. they are my girls.
for you- your children- go for it. the bigger the design, the more detailed it can be and the easier to see their names.
eventually i may have most of my back covered-i'd like a scene including butterflies. just be sure of it. they are very costly, time consuming and painful to remove..not as easy as getting them done. i will never regret my tattooes.

my first tat was "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine" from Solomon songs! That's a safe one.
I do have a tat of my hubby's name and an angle wing next to it.
He will always be our sons dad-and my love.
I also have three stars -for each kid.
So if your unsure of a name go for a symbol.
