Some people just can't deal with the fact that the Catholic Church saved the world ... first by converting most of the known world for Christ ... then by holding the world together after the fall of Rome ... and then spending the next thousand years rebuilding western civilization, and giving it it's distinctive morality, laws, and culture.

And all that time, the forces of evil were working to tear the church apart, both from within and without.

God knows the whole truth ... and the history of the modern western world is the history of the Catholic Church ... warts and all.

It would have been a lot simpler and a lot less painful if all the heretics, apostates, and fools would have just taken Jesus at his word, and accepted the fact that the Catholic church would never be overcome by the forces of evil, and would indeed endure until the end of time ... as the one, holy, apostolic, and universal Christian church ... the primary earthly distributor of God's saving grace ... and the authentic and infallible teacher of God's complete and unadulterated truth.

And that truly IS magnificent.

Pastor Billy laughs and says: Foxes book of Martyrs? Pearly over half of that book is made up of bloody Catholic saints.
More Christians (Catholic) died under the reign of the Tudors Henry VIII, Edward, Elizabeth I than during the reign of Henry's first daughter Mary at which time Foxe wrote that trash. Foxe basically did what is called revisionism and renamed all the Catholic saints that had been martyrd during the first 16 centuries as Protestants lmao.

Oh excuse me, Midge, are talking about the doctrines of the catholic faith, or the sinners that belong to the church, of which I am one, but of corse there are also saints, of which no other chruch has any saints, because only the true faith can strengthen someone and teach them the truths of growing in holiness like our Lord. Yes, it is the most beautiful faith in the world. Why do you think that on tv, when they want to show someone being at church, it is always a catholic church? the reason is that it actually Looks like a church, rather than the empty refrigerator look of protestant churches!

As a former Catholic (now atheist) I'd say that the church service is awesome compared to Protestant churches I've been too. Except that attending church is hard on the knees if you're Catholic. The churches are much more appealing to the eye. However, it's all just wonderful trappings for a fantasy, in my opinion. I don't know if I'd be so proud of the Church's history, if I were you. Lotta ugliness there.

I am afraid it's rich history is scared with inquisitions and torture. It has a bloody history of killing people who tried to translate the bible into their language, so they could read it for themselves. They basically stole money by getting loved ones to pray relatives out of prigatory. The doctrine of hell fire to scare persons into donating and going to confession.
They moved known pedofiles rather than getting rid of them.
They took in money and build magnificence churches by the donations of the poorest of earths population. While their priests lived lives comporable to kings.
They meddled in politics when the bible clearly says:

"My kingdom is no part of this world." "Satan rules the world"
They went so far as to say the UN was God's expression of his kingdom over the earth. When most countries were either athiest or false religion. So to call it a beautiful religion is not to know it's history.

Oh don't listen to these anti-Catholic protestants. The History of the Church is awesome, the traditions are awesome (and biblical), and it's downright pretty.

I plan on being Catholic for the rest of my life. Those who point out the Churches faults don't undersand the context of the history surrounding the faults.

Yup, but not in the ways you infer. I see the beauty in the wonderful things that have come from the Catholic Church.

Unfortunately, this religion is filled with paganism and doctrines of men. These are things that God hates.

You talk of the history of this religion, but it can be summed up by one word. BLOODY

Not the blood of Christ, but the blood of all who refused to follow the teachings and doctrines established by this religion. The inquisitions for instance brought death to many saints who refused to accept the false teachings being enforced by this religion.

So say what you will, this religion is merely a doctrine of men, filled with paganistic practices that God hates.

Many believe that the whore spoken of in scripture in the book of revelations refers to this religion. All I will say is if the shoe fits, wear it.

You see, this is where you Catholics come off TRYING to look like you and your PAGAN DRENCHED religion are so holier than thou! And just so you don't misunderstand me, I don't hate Catholics per se, I do loathe the lies and deception that you try to mask as "beautiful" or "magnificent", and act like the rest of the world can't see the hypocrisy.
