I'm curious to know if the bible is indeed God's word, why you haven't read it completely, if you haven't. Thanks.

I haven't read the whole bible, but I intend to. Contrary to what many people would like to think, people are not forced to believe because of what they are taught by their parents from childhood.

I didn't read it, because I didn't treat it as a priority. Now, that i know better, I read because there's so much to learn from the bible.

Many christians have read the bible in its entirety, there are people who can quote verses by heart and know the contents inside out. I think it's a gradual learning process for some.

Many claim it is God's word, but it is actully a work inspried by GOD. In Genesis, the people are worshipping many gods. This does not change until Exodus. ANd unless someone is catholic or uses a bible that includes the Apocryphia, then they have never read the entire bible either.

I've read it twice so far,but It's always good to go over it again. You may see it a from a different point of view each time you read it.Also,it's good to refer back to a certain passage when you need encouragement or guidance in your life.A large A-Z index of the Bible is good for that. But be careful quoting things out of context.

I am a Christian. Believe it or not, I haven't. After my family gets done with dinner, we have started at Genesis and are reading 1 chapter per night. It's been fun to read the stories.

Most haven't read the whole thing but just parrot John 3:16 and other cherry picked passages. If they had read the whole thing, they'd discover that it is full of contradictions, inaccuracies, and just plain bizarre things. If you read "Ken's Guide to the Bible", you'll see countless places in the Bible where you'll see it could not be the work of a powerful supernatural entity. The only way to make sense of the Bible is to suspend your rational mind and or to treat it as an inspirational book (which I think is the smarter option).

Your first answer must be my long lost cousin - I also collect Bibles, and read through a different translation every year.
