there are many ways to get rid of fleas.there are many topical(go on the skin) products like frontline, frontline plus, advantage, advantex, adams..ext...Also there are pills like Program( although they are only good if you have an Indore pet because if they go outside and get fleas again and it can be very unsuccessful)l. there are also many shampoos that you can use also. although if you do use it you want to let your pet soak in it for a long time (like 30 mins for Adam's shampoo) the biggest problem with fleas is that they can leave up to 12 months in your carpet or yard. this can cause re infestation if you don't treat your yard also. for better flea protection you should use a month to month topical like frontline plus. that way even if new fleas come to bite later they will be eliminated, and your pet will be flea free. you pets skin is probably red because of flea dermatitis. you should bath your pet in a flea shampoo let is soak for 30 mins, rinse then use a medicated shampoo like oxy med and live that to soak for 30 mins, rinse, dry your pet and apply a topical cream. I hoped I helped

If you are seeing fleas or flea dirt, you need to treat with something that works. Advantage is a great product and works. I have never see any side effects with it.

If there are fleas on the dog, they are in the house too. Advantage for three months will take care of the entire problem without resorting to sprays and foggers.

I have never found a non-toxic or natural remedy that actually worked.

The best products are Advantage and Frontline Plus. They are far more effective than anything else on the market and much less toxic than flea collars, shampoos, sprays and dips. Herbal and natural products don't work and fleas are extremely unhealthy for your dog.

Cloud Nine Herbal Dip will help PREVEVT fleas. It's available on the web.
I know of no natural way to kill fleas other than to comb them out with a flea comb. Maybe bite the bullet and use Advantage this time then prevent in the future?

Yeah plenty, but they're only available from vets. Go there. Stay away from pet store flea products, these tend to be the toxic - and ineffective - ones.
