About one week ago i purchased a black leather love seat with a matching couch, two end tables a coffee table and two lamps. the majority of the lamp color is black with a gold trim around the body about an inch wide and the top where it holds the lightbulb is also gold. the shade has two thin gold line accents on the top adn bottom. both lamps are the same.
the tables (all three) have a black body with an inset glass that looks like marble (black, grey adn clear) design with a gold trim around them.
my question is what color would be a good accent color? not for the walls but for decoration. i was thinking a deep red color, my carpet is beige but im lookin for an area rug. also maybe gold curtain rods with wine colored curtains? i just want a richer color to add to the room any ideas?

Red or a deeper tone would definitely add warmth and make it more inviting .good pick.

If you decorate with red or maroon as your accent color your place will look like a bordello...not good. Since the metallic trim on the lamps is gold, which is a warm color compared to silver, you will want to go with warm type colors, (not as warm as red). The colors that would go great with your set are many and you just have to choose a few. Deep rust. Rich Olive Green. Khaki Tan. The gold trim will complement any of these colors really well.

These are very staunch ornate and cold colors-- like a Mausoleum, I would opted for some patterns in a huge area rug to warm it up, gold and coral and red with a vein of black in it. Rather than wine color, Use Charcoal gray with red in it for the drapes then tie in some floor pillows or sofa pillows picking up some coral and red and gray laced with gold.

Hi, It depends on how you want to continue the color scheme. If you want to stay in the brown/red-brown with neutrasl (white) family, you could choose a rug that incorporates those colors as well as other tones in the family. With the white base to the glass table however, I would not select a white carpet. Along with the white leather sofa it will be too much white in one area and will actually serve to make your lovely white leather sofa stand out less than if you had a color to set it off. If you want to choose an accent color, you could have that be the main color,or just one of the colors in a rug - along with the brown-reds. Accent colors that might look good might be dark greens (including plants), or something in the red to orange range. Best of luck in your new space :)

i would go with blood red walls. find a picture with a gold scroll type frame with a larger white flower such as the magnolia. this will keep the clean crisp image but add white and green as well as red. im thinking a gray thicker material for window treatments but maybe with a little gold red and/or black somehow in it. then add plants.

Get the red area rug, and add drapes the same color.[ with brass hardware ].
Then get pillows in a combo of red, gold, and a bit of black.
