When you consider that we spend our lives growing up, to earn money so that we can buy luxuries that entertain us till we die. With the exclusion of love, do you think there is anything actually WORTH living for?

Interested in serious answers as I believe people place far to much faith in superficial belongings, myself included.

I mean, what would we do if the worlds technology collapsed tomorrow? We would be screwed as we have become reliant on it..

Thoughts please :)

There's plenty to live for even though life is empty and meaningless, however, we have a choice to decide what meaning and value we place upon our own experiences. Not all people are conditioned to grow up to earn money to buy luxuries for entertainment. It's not even an option for many people. Many cultures are much more focused on the simple things like growing food, learning music and dance, making art, preparing and enjoying food with friends and family. It's amazing what humans can come up with when there is little technology. It's like the old scenario where the kid gets all this sophisticated stuff for Christmas and 2 hours later he's outside making a snowman or playing with the old beat up sled. Human beings are creative at their core and will always indulge in the creative process. All the modern technologies are very recent in history and while many of us have become lost in cyber space I think it's more of a momentary distraction, sort of a fascination with the newness of it all.

I know EXACTLY what you mean, bro. I thought about that too, many times. And the sad truth is, without Jesus Christ, there IS no point to exist. It may be hard to believe or disturbing to hear, I know. Religion may sound very annoying sometimes, I know. But Jesus is not just a "religion", because He is real, He is alive, He is always with us, trying to get aour attention and to make us understand that He died for our sins and sicknesses, but not just that, but also that He rose to give us a better life; a New life. A life with a purpose, the kind of purpose which He gives, to every one who receives Him, which ALWAYS satisfies. I know, because I am talking from experience, not just "theory".

Happiness comes from being thankful and from having others appreciate you. All the "stuff" in the world will not make you happy for more than a week.

Excluding love? No. Nothing whatsoever to live for. If you're doing without love, then you're doing without God.
