It is not. Mark my words. When you are 80 or 90, people will be still debating...If Bible is real. I do believe in Jesus. But I don't think his real teachings were included. Bible to me is just bunch of magical stories. People who wrote it used fear to get people to convert. Do this or you go to hell!!!!!! come on.................. Jesus was a saint and saint can never use such terms.
I am 100% sure...Bible is just a story book.

What if the god that really exists sends all good people to heaven and all bad people to hell except people who pretended to know for a fact another god existed? then all good atheists are going to heaven but YOU ARE GOING STRAIGHT TO HELL. Why not repent when you still have time? Why risk eternity in hell?
And how can you worship a sadistic god that tortures good people - most of the people who ever lived - for all eternity?
Pascal's wager:
"If god exists, it's infinitely better to believe, since you get heaven instead of hell for eternity. If he doesn't, it doesn't matter since you're dead anyway. So overall it's better to believe"
This is, of course, false.
Some of the problems with the argument:
* The implied assumption that god may exist (with a 50% probability, no less!)
* The assumption that there is an afterlife with a heaven and hell
* The assumption that the god cares about belief in him/her above all else
* The assumption that if you believe in a god, it will definitely be the same god that actually exists.
* The assumption that you lose nothing if it's false. You have lost a great deal, from time praying to a nonexistent entity (some people pray several hours a day!!!) to morality (your god may ask you to hurt other people) and much more besides.
* The assumption that people can believe in something simply because it benefits them. Would you believe goblins exist for twenty bucks? Why not?
* The assumption that any god won't see through the "believing just to get into heaven" ploy.

If the Bible is true, then God is schizophrenic. You want to spend eternity with a schizophrenic God?
***
Dreamstuff, there's one you missed about Pascal's Wager.
It assumes that the believer has chosen the right god (among thousands) to believe in. What if it's some other god, and it's pissed? "Man I just don't get it. I know those atheists just haven't seen enough evidence, but they led good lives. Let 'em in. But those ridiculous Christians! How could they pick that guy, out of all the choices? They're not getting into THIS party!"
They'd be screwed much worse than the atheists.

its not, there is 0% chance of that.
the anti-christ theory was adopted from pre-christian religions
phrases such as the beast and the betrayer were pre-christian concepts that were adopted by the jews once they were sent out of babylon into mesopotamia where those were the names of the evil god of that area
references in the book of daniel can be 95% attributed to the current climate of the time, not apocalyptic prophesy. Even such descriptions as the best, with its iron teeth, which was a common relation to the greeks.
to much of the bible is either borrowed from other religions, or inaccurate, or altered for it to be true. it doesnt take a genius to figure that out.

And what if it's not? Have you read the original? I often hear people say that they have read 'the bible' and yet when we begin discussing it I find that all they have read is someone else's third hand translation.
In college I studied Ancient Greek which led me to Hebrew and most of the available documents that went into what people like to call the bible. At the time I suppose I assumed most people who claim to base their lives on these documents had actually read them. I long ago stopped being shocked when I find discussions of the 'bible' go nowhere.
Before you ask "what if it's true" shouldn't you ask yourself the same question. And if you do then why haven't you read even a single word of it?

You guys follow the Bible with blind faith, Darwin was right and it has been proved beyond reasonable doubt that he is right.
Even if there is a God, you don't know that he is a christian God-maybe his name is Allah.
I'm not going to be threatened into believing something, 'believe or burn in hell for eternity' is nothing more than emotional blackmail and i for one won't be forced to change my views.

Me, Ill take my chances. If the Bible is real, then God is a megalomaniac and I will be lucky to avoid spending eternity with him.

If someone believes there is no need for proof. If someone does not believe there isn't enough proof to convince them. Keep your faith and you'll get your reward.
