Since you don't want opinions, I'll just stick to the question. When my daughter got her ears pierced, I called beforehand to see what their policy was about piercing babies. DO THIS FIRST. Some places won't pierce babies, some places have a minimum age. The place I went to said she had to be 3 months old, free of any infections and be current on all her shots. As to where to get it pierced, that's totally up to you. Whether you do both ears, or just the one, it's all about what you and your girlfriend think looks best. I can tell you now though, that if you plan to pierce one ear more than one time, they won't do both piercings that day. It needs time to heal before they'll pierce another hole in the same ear, so if you do decide to go that route, be prepared to wait for the second piercing. **Edit**You people are absolutely ridiculous. It is NOT child abuse to pierce your kid's ears. If it were, no one would be allowed to do it. And not all babies cry. My daughter was 6 months old when we had her ears pierced and she barely made a whimper. She was more upset that I was holding her head still than actually having it done. And seriously, who the hel are you to say what he should or shouldn't do? I would never do it to my son, but who cares, this kid isn't my son! Some people spank their kids, some people do time outs, some people breast feed, and some formula feed. And everyone thinks their way is the best. Same issue here, everyone trying to force their own opinions down other people's throats and pass it off as "fact" or being "right" Disgusting. Let em be.
