We have a 9 yr. old daughter. She is a wonderful girl- smart, pretty, talented, etc. My wife has homeschooled her since birth. Today my wife called and said that the music teacher at the school, where they go for violin lessons said that our daughter could go to the gifted program at the school and be in the same class as the other girl that she takes violin lessons with.
My wife is burnt out on homeschooling, says it isn't really working and our daughter doesn't like it anymore. My wife is very controlling and very emotional and I think it is hard on our daughter.
On the other hand, our daughter had done very well with homeschooling- 99th percentile on tests- plays violin very well- writes the neighborhood newsletter- loves babysitting younger children and is all-round a great kid.
I'm not sure if my wife and daughter are just temporarily burnt-out, or if it is really time to make a change. We could use the extra income if my wife worked, also. What do u think?
