EVEN if he was shooting at me". Brown was honorably discharged. Would gunlovers like to start living up to the standards of their religion now?

I agree with you. Gun lovers actually LOVE the guns, as if they were a part of the family. I think its because a gun makes them feel like a man when the gun lovers are nothing but a bunch of slime licking wimps.

It's impossible to effectively answer this question due to the false premise you have set up. You seem to equate "following Jesus" with being a "gunlover", as though the two are mutually exclusive. This line of thinking only exposes your obvious ignorance and personal bias. Protecting/saving the lives of innocent people, or even yourself, could only be seen as a noble act, regardless of what tool you may use to do it, and regardless of what religious doctrine you may prescribe to. Ultimately what J. Brown was really saying was that he could not bring himself to harm another human being, regardless of the situation. Guns have absolutely nothing to do with that resolution. Even though I'm sure if his family or friends were in grave danger that he could muster the strength to save them with whatever tool he may have available to do so... and that is a noble action, even in Jesus' eyes...

Easy to say when you've had the upper hand and superiority in weaponry. How about answering to a thug in an alley that is holding a 357 to your head while you only have a 22 pistol. Most would no doubt put the thug to sleep with the 22 before he airiates your skull.

Even Captin Brown!!! He can be against war and that's fine.

Uh,,,huh?

If Captain Brown was following his convictions....I have no problem with that....other than the fact that he should have thought of that BEFORE joining the military...But since you say he is a Captain, I am sure he has been in a while....maybe he has had a change of heart....maybe he is just looking for a way out...who is to say...

The one thing I can say is...this has nothing to do with owning a gun for hunting or protection....

Live it to a Dim to take one incident and spin it to fit their liberal agenda...you guys are priceless.

Who says all us gun lovers follow the same religion? I don't need to believe in Jesus and God to own and love guns, so what's your point? If I had a gun, and someone was shooting at me, you can damn well bet that I will shoot back, it's called self defense.

Post a link to your hero please otherwise its a meaningless rant.

I presume Captain J. Brown (retired) will be heading back to Iraq preach "Love and Understanding" to the opposition??

Hopefully he will be carrying a bullet-proof Cross to hide behind.

And your rant presumes that all gun-lovers are religious!!!

He clearly hasn't read the word that he's supposedly following very closely. Jesus is was a very violent man, someone following his example would have no problem killing someone.

Jesus approved of His Father's command that children who curse their parents be put to death (Matthew 15:3-4). In fact, Jesus chastised the Pharisees for failing to kill children who defied their parents' wishes (Mark 7:9-13). Jesus told us we are to live our lives in utter fear of God for God has the power not only to kill us but also to torture us forever in Hell (Luke 12:5).

Jesus told His disciples to bring before Him any man who didn't believe in Him and to violently slaughter that man while Jesus watched (Luke 19:27). Jesus killed one man by having his body eaten by a swarm of worms because the man failed to give Jesus His due (Acts 12:23). Jesus struck a Jew blind for thwarting His teachings (Acts 13:8-11). Jesus struck a man dead for failing to listen well (Luke 1:20). Jesus took the lives of a couple by scaring them to death for not forking over all of the money they made on a real estate transaction (Acts 5:1-10). Jesus had such a hot temper, not only was he wont to flip over merchants' tables (Matthew 21:12), He even killed a fig tree for failing to bear fruit even though figs weren't in season (Mark 11:12-14).

Are you saying THAT guy would be against one of his followers firing a gun at someone? People don't know jack about the religions they claim these days, its pathetic.
