i can't help notice that most atheists are backslidden Christians or they use to call themselves Christians. and it saddens me to see you this way i realize there are many people out there teaching lies in the name of JESUS because everyone trusts him and you may have been a victim of such people,or maybe you were just forced to go to Church as a child and now you hate Christians ,or maybe you use to know JESUS CHRIST and now you have turned away from him and gave him your back, PLEASE PLEASE this is real JESUS CHRIST loves you it is not GOD's will that you go to hell ,remember how his back was lashed as if he was the worst criminal remember how the very hands he made slapped him and the very mouth he made spitted at him . it wasn't nails that kept him on that cross it was the love he has for you . he still wants you come back to him he still forgives he doesn't change he is not like us. why won't you come back to him? he still loves you .

Do you think the fact that some guy says so on the internet is going to make the difference?

My parents told me all of that Christianity stuff, and they've got a lot more credibility in my book than some anonymous person who can't even capitalize correctly or put together a solid sentence.

If I didn't accept it on my parents' word, why would you ever think I'd just take some stranger's word on it?

If you really want me to start believing in God, have God get in touch with me. If he existed, that'd be trivial - and any god worth his salt wouldn't expect me to be convinced by poorly written, poorly argued posts on the internet by people who clearly know less about religion than I do.

If you can't have God get in touch with me, I suggest that you give up trying to convince people. You're not a very good spokesman, and besides, it should be obvious that God doesn't exist.

So what is your question.

While I was raised with the nightmare (I can't use the term fairy tale because that might imply something positive or even joyful) of Christianity I saw it for what it was by the time I was 13. Which was a bunch of silly stories that have no real bearing on reality. I would find your calling me a backslidden Christian a tad bit offensive. In that I have thoroughly examined Christianity and I find it a harmful sham. There is nothing Christian about me.

No, no, no you are completely wrong.

I was not traumatized. I did not suffer an abusive religious relationship. I don't hate, fear, or hold any grudge against god or Jesus.

I simply grew up. I realized that what I had believed was childish nonsense. Donkey's don't talk, the world was never flooded, and gods don't have sex with human women.

I live the same good, caring, compassionate, self-less life I did as a christian.

I just don't believe in any of that superstitious nonsense. Jesus was a man. He was killed for threatening the Jewish and Roman establishment. That's it.

P.s.
If god loves me, and he doesn't want me to suffer, why did he create hell knowing that billions of his children would spend the rest of eternity there? You can NOT reconncile a loving benevloent god with the existence of hell; one or the other has to give.

okay, I will play your little love game.
Let say I was turned off by Christianity and I decided I no longer believe in Jesus, and then one day Idecide to give religion another try. But the religion I am interested in is Buddhism, not Christianity, but a religion non the less. I ask would this question still be directed at me?

I'm still trying to find the question...

Ah, there it is! "why won't you come back to him?"

Well, I was never a Christian so no matter what I can't come 'back' to him. I don't fault Christians for their beliefs but I can't imagine that there exists an omni-X being out there that created this unbelievably vast universe and somewhere, no particular place but somewhere, he created a medium-sized galaxy and in the corner of that galaxy he created an undescript star around which he created a series of planets. And then, on one of those planets he created a set of beings to govern over everything... and THEN...

He chose only a few of those people to be saved.

Nope, I can't accept that. Sorry.

never considered myself a christian, just used to believe in god the same way I believed in santa, if I was good and pleased him then good things would happen, that's it. Then I realized it was a bunch of bologna. Jesus never existed, so how can I remember any of that stuff that your work of fiction tells.

What turned me away from Christianity was people like you who drag you kicking and screaming back to it and don't respect other beliefs. Why can't you just look at what you are saying? I mean, shoving it down our throats will only make us angry and want to never speak to a Christan again.

So....what IS the question?
This is just religious spam!
I can honestly say what I know is true ALSO. I could grovel and beg (as you seem to do) for you to wake up and realize, I could call you a fool etc
but what it comes down to is your religious beliefs are none of my concern, nor should mine be for you. What do you care if I am saved?
