I don't quite know what you mean by "control" but I remember a few dreams that I had where I knew I was dreaming and told the people in my dream so.

I found an easy way that works almost every time for me, maybe it will work for you. First it helps to stay up late, like around 2 am or later. So you probably want to try this on the weekend when you don't have anything to do the next day. Second, set your alarm for really early, like around 5 or 6 am, so you only get 3-4 hours of sleep. When you wake up, don't get out of bed, but make sure you are mentally awake. Stay awake for a few minutes to help you not go back into a very deep sleep right away. After a few minutes go by close your eyes and just start day dreaming about what you want to dream about. Really focus on what you are imagining and just run with it. You should just pass back out and your day dream will turn into a real dream and you should keep your control of it. Keep trying it, it works.

It is possible to control your dreams, though I understand it is quite difficult. They are referred to as "lucid dreams" and most people have them by accident. Sometimes you will hear a noise from the "real world" or notice something is amiss in the dream, and you'll realize you are dreaming without actually waking up. At this point you can make your own decisions, and really do whatever you can imagine! Close friends of mine have mastered ways to increase the chance of having lucid dreams, and ensure that they will remember them the next day. One of my friends even tells me he can pick where he will be in his dream, and control nearly every aspect. Personally I have only had a few lucid dreams and they usually are not planned. On one occasion I took a friend's advice and set my alarm clock to go off when I would be in a certain cycle of sleep. I believe it was about 2 hours before I would have woken up, although I am not 100% sure. It worked. When I heard the alarm I remembered what that signified: I was dreaming. I was able to control the rest of the dream before waking up shortly after. Another method is to read things twice in your dream, or check the clock twice. This works because in your dream it will usually be different each time. First the clock might say 2:00 and you check it again and its 6:00. Strange stuff!

Yes! And I'm proof that you can. In highschool a teacher taught me a little trick that will enable one to controll one's circumstances in a dream.

Before going to bed you first want remind yourself to recall the technique you are about to use once you are in dream state. If it helps pinch yourself before falling asleep or speak to yourself out loud.

If you find yourself dreaming, what you want to do is raise your hand -palm up- and hold it about five inches or so from your face to get an up close look at it. Follow two or three of the lines on your palm from begining to end and by the time your done you will instanly feel the difference. Your surroundings will seem more clear to you. If you wish to fly, look up at the sky and imagine air under your feet and clouds surrounding your body. Try jumping to boost your concentration.

I still have nightmares where I'm being chased but now I just do this and fly away. It's fun! And you get better with practice. The hardest part is remembering to use the technique while dreaming. That alone may take a few weeks to master. LOL!

Please try this and if it works write me!!

This was a topic I brought up in a philosophy class my freshman year.
I have had things happen in my dreams that I didn't like and was able to rewind to get desired results. Sort of like a dream mulligan.
Others in my class said they were able to control their dreams but majority either couldn't or couldn't remember.

Transcendental form of life only can fulfil all wishes immediately

Tandralu Bhusitam Shukham
Antimam Paralokena
Tad Bhutam Samadhitam Byakti
Mat Namena Jagratam

Just like dreaming one can enjoy happiness in imagination, similarly one can enjoy that real in the heaven after death. The person becomes transcendental into the holy ghost (Brahma Bhuta) and awaken with my name

PURPORT:

How can one enjoy transcendental life? It is like one very nice dream that one like to experience in real. In this material life everyone likes to see dream. Everyone is dreaming. Everyone is trying to fulfill dream. Everyone is pursuing own dream. Someone is dreaming about very nice home, someone may be becoming powerful leader, someone may be noble honored scientist, may be about good sports, beautiful wife or husband etc. All these dreams are material in nature. All these dreams are about fulfilling material enjoyments in life. But in spiritual world these dreams are actual and real. There all wishes are fulfilled immediately just by wishing only. Thus, what is dream in this material world that is actual in spiritual world. How these dreams are fulfilled? To fulfill these dreams one needs to become completely samadhistha meaning transcendental form. In the transcendental form one can move freely in transcendental universe. It is like when we sleep we forget about our bodily concept of life. And because of this we become more free and can move any where in dream that we really don't know for real. Similarly one can achieve this transcendental form by achieving mercy of holy ghost that is Brahma Bhuta. Brahma is the creator of this material universe in transcendental form. And one can reach to this universe achieving transcendental form only. That's why one needs to be smadhistha into the name of Lord. When one becomes smadhistha in transcendental form one is awaken in the spiritual universe with the holy name of Lord. Then one starts enjoying the transcendental life in that spiritual universe for real. Thus one must always chant holy name of Lord Hari to reach the supreme transcendental abode of Lord who is the origin of entire spiritual universe. That's why chant name of Lord always in your heart and enjoy transcendental life even while living on this material world. In that context Prabhupada said "What is this comfort of the skyscraper building? I think it is a mechanical prison". Because this is material universe where we have to always move with a material body. A material body can not move everywhere freely just by wish. Then where is the comfort in this material life by living in skyscraper building? This is like a big prison and no one can fulfil wishes immediately living within prison. Because prison has its own material laws and not even accesible to all material comforts these are even available in this material world. Thus we must look for transcendental freedom and that is only possible by achieving transcendenal form of life by chanting name of Hari. All glory to Hari! All glory to Brahma! All glory to Prabhupada! All glory to Mohaprabhu! All glory to Pancha Tattva! All glory to Narahari Narashima Dev! All glory to associates devotees and vaisnavas! Hare Krsna! Haribol!
