I will be landing in Canada in a couple of months and I have been looking for information regarding importing a car from US to Canada, which has "NOT" been totally paid out.
I bought my car a year ago and I am still paying for it. I don't have the title since it needs to be paid in full before I can get it. I still own about 15 k, and I don't have the money to pay it in full. Any thoughts on this?

Before you worry about Canada, you better check with your loan company.

Hi, I have a friend that moved from CANADA to the US, he brought his car and he has in the same situation like you, I mean he is still making payments in Canada for the car so you can move there and keep paying here; as long as you have legal status in Canada it shouldn't be any trouble for you to get it register at DMV and get insurance, the only issue I see is that they are gonna make you pass some test or certifications, safety standards in Canad are much higher than the US, one example is all cars in Canada have day running lights, things like that. Good luck!

Most car loan companies do not allow for cars they hold leins on, so you may be having a problem if you take it to Canada or any other country.
