We can have both churches, mosques and temples together as we do now. It's just that many of us choose not to go into them.
But you BNP lot want to impose christianity upon a secular nation, and it won't work.

Tolerance!!!
As far as I'm aware - these beautiful Christian Churches are de-commissioned and de-sanctified by the beautiful church hierarchy. they are then sold off or donated - as a means of securing funds for other beautiful churches. Society has moved on - the Church hierarchy have come to realise that they must do the same. Hence the change in purpose of these buildings.
The biggest problem is not the loss of these beautiful buildings - they remain, and are used and maintained, while servicing the needs of a growing part of our communities. While these people may have been misunderstood and classified as 'Godless heathens' in the past. Such terms are no longer accepted within a modern and forward looking society. To deny these groups the right to pray and to be who they are is surely a graver sin within the concepts of The Bible.
As workmen - the continued existence of these beautiful constructions stands more as testament to the quality of work than to the views of the times the buildings were commissioned. I'm sure all tradesmen are grateful that the buildings are still being used and maintained - the only other option would be to demolish. (Demolition involves a one-off job - renovation and maintenance is on-going - if you were a workman, which would you prefer?)

They are not all converted to mosques and temples. Some have become arts centres, communtiy centres and the like. They are still being used as a focus for the community. I would have though the craftsmen who built them would be proud of that - that their work has survived so long.
It is not because of immigration that this has happened but because religion has a much looser hold on our lives than many years ago. Probably as the result of two world wars and the societal changes that took place afterwards.

you know i find it funny... we live in the west, if we show the slightest bit of Christian or western pride we are racists, we are biggots and that makes us ignorant. How many Christians live comfortably in the Islamic "Republic" of Iran? Next thing you know they will be demanding equal right in the Vatican. On that day I will kill no fewer than a dozen of those SOBs.
P.S. I know as a Catholic, when we "remove" churches, there is a whole process involving dismantling the church. what is left is just a shell. We move to where the presence of Christ is most needed. As far as dropping numbers in church pews, not my church. we have five masses on sunday, and two every other day of the week. we serve the needs of the faithful well.
still, i think it is an affront to God allowing even a shell of a church to be used for unholy practices.

Jewish values and Christian values are pretty near identical, though their theologies are very different. Both religions, though Christianity more than Judaism, had a crucial formative part in the development of American Democracy. The Hollywood movie industry no longer promulgates the values of democracy, Judaism, or Christianity, to any great extent. So no, I don't think Hollywood is inundating our culture with Jewish values. If only it were, we would be better off.

I am sure they would be glad they are being used and not knocked down. Why aren't they full of Christians worshipping? Because they are too busy shopping on sunday to go to church.

what makes a Christian church more beautiful than a temple or a mosque? seems awfully ethnocentric.
