Samaritans Purse is a good one, contact them, St. Jude's Hospital, World Vision is another overseas. Check out rebuildlakeshore.com, they are mississippi where the eye of katrina came thru, lot of work to be done there, its also an hour away from New Orleans and Operation Noah or Habitat for Humanity.

YMCA, YWCA, Salvation Army or at your local church and ask for volunteer work. Even Nursing Homes need someone just to sit and chat with th people. Hope this helps.
