However, all people I ask to join the military look as if they have drank lemon juice when I say "Please join the military service". Why?

I don't think there are 10 people willing to talk to you let alone 1000. You consistantly bash this country and it's military and for some reason claim to be a vet. A wal-mart security guard does not count as a vet.

People join the military to serve their country.

People do not join the military to serve an administration. I was in the Navy for about a quarter of a century. There were several Commanders in Cheif. And, while I believe only two of them were competent to lead the military in time of war, I treated them all with the respect the office deserved.

In civilian life people don't always love their jobs or the people for whom and with whom they work. The neat thing about the military is that the CEO changes. In civilian life you can be stuck with the same moron until the sucker retires or dies. It's about as close as you can get to an oligarchy as one can get..... or perhaps an economic aristocracy.

And, in the civilian world, you can't bad-mouth your boss. You can't demonstrate against corporate policy. You can't do anything to management just because you don't happen to like what they do.

Know this, those who, though able, refuse to join the service, who admonish others not to join the service, for whatever their excuse, absolutely do not support the troops. It's just pretense.

Asking people to join won't help win the war. They would actually have to join. Besides, it won't take thousands of additional soldiers to be sent over. All we have to do is pull out the U.S. troops then nuke Iraq. Turn it into a glass parking lot, then tell Iran they are next if they don't toe the line. I'd bet that within 6 weeks all mosques in Iran would be closed and a McDonalds would be opened in their places.

Why don't you evangelize for the "Prince of Peace" instead.

Seriously, the chaplains in Iraq say they need more bibles.

I blogged about it yesterday. Check the link under sources.

It wouldnt help US win the war because the problem isnt military members but a weak kneed populace that has no will or resolve to fight and win. Funny how Osama said that Americans had no will or resolve to fight nearly ten years ago and said that was how he knew he could defeat the U.S. Prove him right you fools. Funny most of the people whinning haven't had to sacrifice a damn thing.

Because the people you ask obviously dont have the pride and dedication it takes to be in the military anyway.
Besides I dont want someone "half assing" it in the trench next to me.

First of all, I served my country during another "un-win-able war", Vietnam.
Secondly, I wouldn't help Bush out if he was shot, lying on the ground, bleeding to death.
Thirdly, this President you are so proud of, refuses to stand by the troops he sends to war. So, screw him......
Lastly, because Bush profits from the rising oil & gas prices, I just wouldn't even allow my children to serve under his sorry a**.....
enough said..... got it?

"Win in Iraq." Now there's an oxymoron. Nobody wants to join the military because they don't want to be shipped off to Iraq, Afghanistan, or sooner or later, Turkey. There is nothing to be won in Iraq. The military used to be a great place. You could join and see the world and get an education. Now they ship you off to the Middle East to get shot at. I think I'll stay home...
