Okay so I just broke up with my boyfriend because I realized that I wasn't ready for the kind of relationship he wanted. I told him that I just wanted to be friends and he told me that he understood. Well he has started dropping hints that he wants to hook back up and he knows how I feel about that. He was all over me the other day when I thought we were going to hang out as friends. I didnt know how to tell him that I havent changed my mind from before. I dont know what to do. Any ideas???

Forget about the friends thing. Just break it off. Friends is the most confusing word between a guy and a girl. Friendships between guys and girls are very difficult to maintain. The line between friendship and romance is often blurred. Sure, if you kiss him it's romantic. But what about a walk in the park together? What about him giving you a ride home even though it's far away? A fine line must be walked so that romantic feelings don't start to develop. Sometimes you think you're fine and then they start talking about someone else they're attracted to and you realize your jealous. "My god, where did I cross the line", you think to yourself. Being friends with your ex is even more difficult because all those old feelings are still there. This kind of thing works on TV but not often in reality, in my experience. Your not saving his heart or doing him any favors by being his friend. More likely your just making it that much more difficult for you and him to move on to people who are more appropriate for you.
If you want to let him down easy, rather than tell him you want to be friends tell him what you've said in this question. Tell him that he's not a bad guy but you just aren't compatable, and he will find someone more willing to give him what he wants, and they'll be happy together. But your not the person to give that to him.

I think you should discontinue contact with him. I understand that you want to be friends however, since he still has feelings for you he can not keep the relationship at that level.
In addition, by continuing to hang out you may be confusing him. He may look at you wanting to be his friends and interpret is as you still having feelings for him.

I think that he still likes u because of wat u said. It is different if a girl says that they dont want to have a relationship but i guess that he misunderstood wat u said and he thought that u said that u didnt want to be in a relationship at that time but now he must think that u have had enough time to have a relationship. Tell him that u want to be only friends and ALWAYS only be friends. Then he might understand. Hope this helps :)

Just tell him firmly, without hurting his feeling that you do not want a relationship with him and by pushing it he is simply ruining the friendship

Just tell him that your not ready and it feels like hes pushing you and you dont want to be pushed. but tell him that in private.
