I would guess because some of us have knowledge that you are very afraid of hearing, believe it or not the Bible tells us what happens to us after death. And what hope we have regarding the "resurrection"
Man had perfect start, prospect of endless life.....Genesis 1:28, 31.
Disobedience, brought sentence of death....Genesis 2: 16, 17; - 3: 17, 19
Sin and death have passed on to all of Adam's children,,..Romans 5:12
Adam was made to be a soul, not given one.....Genesis 2:7; 1 Corinthians 15:45
It is man, the soul, that dies...Ezekiel 18:4; - Isaiah 53:12;- Job:11:20
Dead are unconscious, know nothing...Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10; - Psalm 146: 3,4
Dead asleep awaiting the resurrection.....John 11: 11-14,23-26;--Acts 7: 60

You can say that no one has proof of what happens after death through 1st person experience, however there is an awful lot of scientific evidence that seems to suggest that when you die, you simply die.
Sure, you can believe anything you want. But there just isn't a very high probability that when you die, your "soul" departs your body and is met by midgets, balloons, and Hooter's girls.

Fear of confidence is a sure sign of a weak person.
You don't need to run from someone to indicate that what they believe is not necessarily what you believe, or that what they believe is devoid of logical thought.
Christians aren't any more dangerous than soapbox hipppies like Deepak Chopra.

You should have read your Bible then you would'nt fear or doubt when someone tells you about life after death.
I choose to follow Jesus Christ because through him is the only way to eternal life all you need is Faith the size of a mustard seed.
Jesus allso says those who deny me here i will deny befor my Father in Heaven. I dont want on that denial list because forever is alot longer time than we have here on earth.
It's up to you because you have been given free choice!

Would you be scared of someone who said that Santa Claus doesn't exist? Would you run from them? I suspect not. Some things in life are just so clearly false that it would be completely perverse for a grown adult to believe in them. Santa is one, and any kind of 'life after death' is another.

Small difference here. Atheists will tell you that they BELIEVE that death is final, but that they cannot know for CERTAIN because no one can. The religious folks will tell you that they KNOW FOR CERTAIN what happens after death, merely because they believe what they read in a book or were told by their parents or a priest.
Deepak was correct. Good quote. Here's another:
"The wise man is the man who knows that he knows nothing."
