Is this rebound or is it real?

My ex suddenly came back into my life after years of being apart. He has only just broken up with his long term ex and they are still in touch. Our relationship ended badly years ago and I really want to know if you think it is a rebound or could this work? Anyone been in a similar situation - did it last or will it be the same as before? Also what to do about the ex (do I worry or do nothing)?

The danger signs are that you broke up badly years ago, and that he just broke up with his long term ex, and that you don't know why they broke up. All these things would indicate to me that he should be someone you used to know and perhaps talk to now and then. The chances that it would work out may well be the same as the chances of riding a horse that is dead, almost none.
If you become friends - no dating as other than two people who used to know each other - and the friendship is still there a year from now, them perhaps look into more but for now the chance of a relationship working under these conditions is pretty much non-existant because he may be using you to make her jealous, or simply trying to figure out why everyone dumps him. make a list of why you separated last time and perhaps that alone may help you decide to look for someone else. He may even be the boy friend of the person who was advised to dump him because he spent his time on drugs and porn in another question in here.

well if it ended badly why are you dating him again??. yea it sounds like a rebound cuz hes going to something he had before..just say you dont want anything to do with him

Not to be a b*tch or anything but it is definitly rebound. He is probably trying to forget about his X with you...or he wants some...he is a guy after all.
