Considering that 99% of the people on this version of yahoo answers are Westerners, the answer is going to be no. This is predominantly only an Eastern Orthodox recognized practice. As you can see, Western Protestants actually believe that their hair serves as a covering. Then again, the majority of them hardly follow the Bible as it reads and have countless ideological divisions (Methodist, Baptist, etc.). Many of their alleged beliefs seemed to be rooted in modern convenience.

yes i wear a scarf during prayers. women should cover their hair and if we followed the scriptures we would understand that a husband is a covering and a woman is to stand under her covering. her hair is her glory and for her husband to see only.
prayer is much more serious and worshipping God is not what we 'think' we want to do- but what is respectful to God and honoring him in every way we can.

1 Corinthians 11:5
But every woman who has her head uncovered while praying or prophesying disgraces her head, for she is one and the same as the woman whose head is shaved.
1 Corinthians 11:7
For a man ought not to have his head covered, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man.
Hmm.. learn something new every day.

The New Testament says you should.
Update: I already have a thumbs down! How many of you have read the whole New Testament? One of Paul's letters, I THINK one of the Corinthians, (sorry, I remember the verse, but I don't memorize where I saw it) specifically says that women should cover their heads when they're in church. You can't thumbs down me for telling the truth...okay, well, you can,...but...you know what I mean. I'm saying its not an Old Testament Law but a New Testament statement by Paul. So argue with him, not me. Personally, I don't care what you do.
Update: Thanks, Squeaky! OOOO....I bet you all wish you hadn't thumbs downed me, eh?

No. I've attended churches where women covered their hair, whether completely or with a kerchief. It's referring to women not revealing their beauty but to only their husbands; a woman's hair is her glory.

No, the men don't either. We are free of the Old Testament laws..Read what the Bible requires of Gentiles..Abstain from sexual immorality and the blood of things sacrificed to idols..The last rule is a piece of cake.
