how to remember organelles and their functions?

I don't know of any special mnemonic device for this, so I'd just suggest making flash cards and asking a friend to use them to quiz you. One one side of each card, write the name of an organelle. On the other side, write the function of that organelle. Your friend can either show you organelle names and ask you to say what its function is, or show you functions and ask you which organelle performs them. You'll need to use your textbook to get the original information.
