Peel and slice two potatoes. Put them in the beans for a couple of hours, stirring occasionally. Don't cook them in the beans, just refrigerate. They'll absorb the salt.

If you've made a sauce for the beans and it's too salty, try rinsing off just one quarter or a half of the beans and adding them back in...or, add more unsalted beans to dilute the saltiness.

Add tomato, pepper/spice, or sugar to balance slightly too salty beans.

Or, serve icy cold beer to offset the salt.

Better luck next time!

More beans?

Just kidding. Try something sweet to counter the salt. Like if it's baked beans, try some more brown sugar or honey. If it's black beans, just a pinch of white sugar might help.

drain the pot of the bean broth, rinse the beans, add more water aand reheat. i never salt my beans while cooking, i let people salt to taste at the table. if you used salt pork, or ham hocks, cook them separte first, take out of salty water and add to clean broth for the beans

Drop in a raw potato cut in half and cook for half an hour. It's what Martha says to do and it works:)

Just fish out the potato and toss at the end of cooking time.

If you don't have a potato to drop in to absorb the salt, you can substitute a med/large pealed carrot, or a handful of baby carrots.
