DO WHAT I LEARNED IN THE MILITARY ITS CALLED 20 DOWN. YOU DO 20 SIT UPS, 19 PUSH UPS, 18 ARM CIRCLES, 17 JUMPING JACKS, 16 LEG SCISSORS ( YOU LAY DOWN FLAT ON YOUR BACK WITH YOUR HANDS PARALLEL TO YOUR BODY AND MOVE YOUR LEGS UP AND DOWN NOT TOUCHING THE GROUND) THEN I USUALLY RUN 15 MINUTES BUT THE STATIONARY BIKE WOULD WORK JUST AS GREAT. I DO THIS EVERY MORNING, I WAS ABOUT 180 TWO WEEKS AGO NOW I'M DOWN TO 165. JUST DO WHAT I SAY AND IN NO TIME YOU WILL START TO SEE RESULTS

I live in a townhouse too and am also trying to lose weight. I try to run up and down the stairs at least 30x's a day and I can feel that in my butt. i also have a stationary bike and ride it while I am watching one of my shows. during commercials I ride as fast as I can and then when the show comes on I take it back down. I too want to lose about 20 - 25 pounds by Christmas and I am determined to do it. You don't need expensive exercise equipment to work out. Just doing housework or dancing and acting goofy can do it. Anything that gets your heart rate going and makes you sweat. Eat 5 - 6 small meals a day and drink lots of water. I may go back to the atkins plan because for me that worked. I lost 60 pounds in 4 months and kept it off for about 3 years then I quit smoking and gained back 25 pounds. Good luck to you. I will be doing it with you virtually!!! lol. let me know how you're doing periodically - kymeekat69@yahoo.com.

You need cardio and weight training. Cardio would be bicycling, going up and down the stairs for 20 - 30 minutes at a time. Then you need to be lifting some weights, can be big cans of tomatoes, bicep curls, chest presses, etc.
Do this 2 - 4 times a week, watch what you eat, and it will come off SLOWLY! Remember, there is no magic diet pill, no fad diet that will take it off and keep it off.
Make exercising and moving a part of every day.

What you need to do is do walking or stairs whatever will raise your heart rate. This is called cardio. Doing something for a period of time 10-15 minutes a day that raises your heartrate is great for you.
Also you don't need machines but weight training is great to do with cardio cause this helps build your muscle and muscle actually burns fat and will help you not just lose weight but tone up. You can do pushups, sit ups, get two big cans of canned food or something that causes some resistance for you and do bicep curls...holding the cans in your hands palms toward ceiling, slowly bring up to shoulders and slowly lower back down but not so that your arms are straight just so that your hands are right in front of your thighs.
Do this repetatively 15-25 times. Sounds simple? You will feel it!

Enjoy!

Walk around your neighbourhood ,you may meet others out doing the same thing and take a mp3 or I pod . Have fun with it.

Tae Bo is a really good workout and lots of fun. I used to get the tapes at a local dollar store for a buck each.
