What your friend suggested is call a "deferral program". At the end of one year the ticket is expunged. No report to your insurance, and no points on your license. Only two ways to beat it. First, if the officer doesn't show on the court date, and second, if thee is an external witness that will testify that you weren't speeding. You loose, you get the ticket and no deferral.

I got 'lucky' once back in the 90's, but I don't recommend you try it.
I was delivering Pizza one night, and kept having to go up a steep hill. This time I got up some speed so I didn't have to shift down as much. Well, the blue lights went on and I got a ticket. I didn't pay it or show up for court. About 2-3 months later I got a letter from the DMV stating that my Drivers License has been suspended. I called the DMV at the state capitol. The lady I talked to said she only had a request from a municipality to suspend but no additional details. She re-instated my license over the phone. It never appeared on my driving record and no warrants were issued....wheW! got lucky....wouldn't try it again though....

I once beat a speeding ticket, 47 mph in a 35 mph zone by proving my speedometer was off.
I recently changed tire size and gearing on my 4X4 pickup. I came to court with a certificate showing I had corrected the speedometer and the judge dismissed the case.
Unless you can do something like that I'd recommend going to traffic school. You still pay the fine plus the fee for attending traffic school but it won't show up on your driving record.

No. I've earned every speeding ticket I ever got. No need to fight it, if I deserved it. I have, however, taken defensive driving to keep my insurance down... Nothing helps me learn the lesson, though, like owning up and paying the penalty. I'm a much safer driver nowadays than I used to be.

Pretty much the only way to get out of a ticket is if the officer doesn't show up. Most get time and a half or overtime for going, so why would they want to miss that? You are better off just paying it and going to traffic school. Going will make it so your insurance doesn't find out and raise your premium.

good luck with that. but unfortunately the behaviour of other drivers is not seen as a valid excuse for speeding. next time you get in a similar situation i suggest you keep your distance. that way if anythign happens you cannot be blamed.
i heard a scientist got out of a speeding ticket by claiming he was going 27.48956546 mph. he had his own speed-ometer in his car and he got off

No. I got a no turn on red 188.00 I was stupid I will go to school..it's expensive and inconvenient. I am scared of those ticket doctor's or clinics where they show up and you win. I would end up losing and getting the points.

call a ticket clinic or lawyer, I've used my lawyer for around 6 speeding tickets and he's gotten off the hook on all of them (for arond $60-80 hiring a traffic lawyer is worth it) good luck
