The reason I am asking, I seen a report a few days ago about a Prisoner in a state Prison Stating that they cannot extract his DNA, Blood, Urine or anything due to his Religious beliefs. I am wondering what would they do in a situation like that? If it is against his Religion and they still do it, Are they violating his religious beliefs and can he sue for it happening.

Sorry to say the above writer is wrong - Christian Scientists (an oxymoron if ever there was one) would fit your description; they are the ones (for example) who let a daughter die from hundreds of bee stings here in FL a few years ago because they don't believe in doctors.

I think Misty is correct. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, the only treatment we refuse on the whole is that of the infusion of whole blood or its major componants.

I do BELIEVE that Christian Scientists will not accept medical treatments for illnesses, but I also THINK that they will accept them for accidents and injuries, broken bones, etc.

Not being a Christian Scientist, I do not know thiese things for a fact.

I think that's Christian Scientists. They do not believe in going to the doctor or in taking medications.

Jehovah's Witnesses will not allow blood transfusions. But I do think they'll get shots and medications.

I think that Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe in some medical interventions, vaccines, blood transfusions, etc. They only allow medical care that falls within biblical guidelines.

Many Christian Scientists (sic), and their children, have died believing all we need to cure us of disease is prayer.

When someone is convicted of a crime he loses a lot of his rights, including his right to practice his religion in a certain way.

What if I said it is against my religion to be locked up in a cell?

Those guys raptured and died out long ago. Pity the rest of the zealots don't follow suit.
