Hi,

For about 7 months now i have had intermittent pains/feelings on the left side of my chest and my left arm, and also on the bottom of my neck. I will try to explain the sensations. Sometimes my left arm feels as though there is a lot of pressure in my veins, and I also get a tingling sensation, like pins and needles.
This is usually accompanied by a tight feeling on the left side of my chest, similar to cramp and it also feels cold, and wet. I have also, recently been getting a strange wet feeling on the back of my neck, only on a very small patch of skin, it feels as though there are a few drips of water there??
I would go to my GP, but whenever i go to see him, with any problem he just fobs me off, and doesn’t actually listen to me properly. Has anyone experienced anything similar?? Sorry if my description is vague, its just hard to explain.
I’m 24, and in good general health, i do not do any kind of weights, so I have ruled muscles sprain out.
Thank you for any help

Hi;
You describe an angina that is called angina pectoris. This is usually because of heart attack or coronary stenosis. If your chest pains start with exercise and don't pass away until you rest it is probably because of a heart problem. But it comes and goes when you are resting or doing something usual it is probably not because of a heart problem. Some lung diseases, some psychological problems like anxiety, some liver problems or some hematological problems cause angina pectoris. But if you are a male (yes you are) and not exercising and overweighted you are on a great danger. So my profational advice to you go get an EKG and show it to closest doctor you find. This attacks could get more serious.
Hope you get well soon.

I had a pain and pressure in my chest that went down to both of my arms. I also felt tingling in my fingers. Clammy feeling was three too.

I was actually carried into ER with this symptom and stayed at a hospital for 2 days going through all the cardiac tests.

End result was, a very bad acid reflux.

I tell you all this, not to tell you it's an acid reflux. But, I wanted to tell you, the symptom you have can be anything and even for a group of trained doctors, accurate diagnosis takes multitude of tests.

I think you should be seen by a doctor. If you complain chest pain and your current doctor doesn't want to listen to you, go to another doctor. My nurse said "chest pain" is a magic word in her department. They do not take it lightly.

You should find a different GP who will listen. The cold and wet feelings could be nerve sensations. The nerve endings control the sweat glands so that could explain the sensations you have been feeling. You should also have your heart and arteries checked out. What you are feeling is unusual so don't let anyone blow it off.
