Go to the local 'Dollar store' and then purchase a canvas, paints, brushes kit. This will put you out about ten dollars. If you find this is something that you like to do. Then put out some money for the good stuff. Go for either Rembrandt or Grumbacher oil paints. Get the large tubes, they are better for your money. Get some really good brushes. Here is a site, that you can check them out at.

I prefer acrylic paint...it is water soluble and doesn't smell the place up so clean up is easy. Canvasses or paper of different sizes and a selection of brushes. A plastic plate can be a palette and an old mug to put your water in. Go forth and have fun...you can get all this stuff at Walmart.

u can try glass painting. its easy and it looks really pretty ! all u need is a piece of glass [size can b watever is suitable 4 u] and u need special glass paints which are both water based and oil based but a beginner shud try out water based and a glass liner. then all u hav 2 do is make yr design using the liner and fill it in with the paint. u'll need paintbrushes ans nailpolish remover [for removing the paint if u make a mistake]

you only need THREE things to get started: paint, a brush, and something to paint on. After that, you can get fancier, like canvas instead of paper.

you'll need an oil canvas...these come in different sizes...
then you'll need oil paint...i personally use reeves
then linseed oil...you don't have to buy the expensive ones...
then paint brushes...buy big ones and small ones...(if you want to put details on your painting)
a palette
2 water container
one containing water
one containing water with suds (its hard to wash oil paint off)
