carbon dioxide is CO2, not C2O. It is used by plants in the process of photosynthesis--they take it in and give off oxygen which we breathe. However, at night, plants also use oxygen...that is why you SHOULD NOT have a plant in a hospital room at night--the plant competes with the patient for the available oxygen.
