He is in software right now, but plans to switch to the area of finance. I will thinking of gifting him a Wall Street Journal newspaper subscription. Will he appreciate it?
Also, would you suggest I gift him the everyday one, or just the weekend subscription?
Which one would you have preferred?

Also, he has never "mentioned" that he likes that paper. So I don't know if it's still a wise risk or a bad risk.

It really just depends if he likes to stay current with the news and market. I would definetly get the weekly one because they contain so much content that unless you are retired there is no way to read a whole wall street everyday. Good luck though, I'd say it's a pretty good idea.

I would like any gift some one gave me.
I am not into finance, but there is still interesting things to read about in that publication.

If he is a capitalist pig. he'll like it. WSJ is a right wing rag that used to be the dow jones' mouthpiece - now its just another fox tabloid.
i say get him something a little more ballanced.

get him kiplingers, money magazine if he likes investing.
mens health etc for just any other thing he likes.
and get him an entire year. its only like 15 bucks or something.
