What is good and bad about the Army and Marines besides the war and which in your opinion is best?

Put why you think this though. I don't want your just your opinion I want to know which does which and what each branch gets in benifits.

Army or Marines?
In my case...the Marine Corps was the right choice for me. For you? I don't know. Each branch...including the Air Force, Navy, and even the Coast Guard have their own jobs. The benefits are the same no matter which branch you join.
The Army has more bases around the world and they are typically better then most Marine bases. The Army is mainly ground troops with minor air support. The Marines are ground troops with a multiple Air Wings (four I believe) for support. The Army has money dedicated to them to purchase what they need whereas the Marines fall under the Department of the Navy and we usually get what the Navy doesn't use or has discarded to get new stuff.
The Marine Corps are the elite force. We are known as the President's own because we can be sent into battle by the President without declaring war or without permission of the Congress.
All that...and we have the better looking uniform (lol.... just a cheap shot at my Army cohorts in crime!)
All in all.... it is a personal decision you must make. What is best for you.

Well looking at the responses, I guess one could have to say the Marines are the best.
I would know becuase at least we have a motto: Once a Marine, Always a Marine.

P.S. Marines don't need a regulation to wipe our a$$, we let the Army do that. It's the only kind of paperwork they understand!!

My brother is an Army Ranger, he trained for a long time (Basic Training, advanced infantry training, jump school, Ranger Training) and he told me everything he learned from all the Army training he had paled in comparison to what the Marines did. His best friend is a Marine and they spent some time weighing each branch and while the training is better in the Marines, overall life in the Army is a lot better.

The few, The proud, The Marines!!!!
My dad is a marine and a Vietnam vet, so I am biased on this question. But I say the Marines for sure!!!
My fiance went into the army and hated it. However, I have 3 friends who went into the Marines and are damn proud of it!

The Marines have MUCH higher standards in every way imaginable.
There's nothing wrong with the army, if that's the best you can do. They are very important to our country's defense.
But if you are asking which is the "best"... The USMC is head and shoulders above anyone else. They are very elite.

Different branches and different training.
Decide which ones will accomplish your goals and suit your life's program/goals
.
I personally like the Marines best. (my family were all Marines) they seem to have the best offerings. But see what each has available; and which one will give you the best training, pay, schooling available, etc. And get it in writing!!

Don't join the Marines, I hear the lobotomy hurts. The Army will let you pick your job, promote you faster, and allow you to use your brain. Marines can't wipe their behind if a regulation doesn't instruct them on how to do it.

In America, nothing really...except a patch on your uniform that either says USMC or US Army.
