I am at a community college now and I'm considering transfering to WA state university OR the University of Rochester in NY. Which one would be cheaper??? I would guess WA state, since it's a state school? Anyone know? My major will be Neuroscience.

If you live in the same state as the university it's usually cheaper because you are not paying out of state tuition. Which school has the best program for your major? You need to consider tuition, living expenses, travel back home etc. Did either of them offer you scholarships? Check out their financial aid.

what the first guy said, also don't forget if your major is in the medical field merit scholarships and grants, I am guessing your GPA is kick ***. Also the smaller schools charge more sure, but isn't the FAFSA based on the difference between your contribution and the amount needed to attend a certain school?

i would select them both when you do the fafsa, because even though one may cost more, they may offer you more grants (free money) and other financial aid. once you see that, you can pick and choose based on that. www.fafsa.ed.gov

in terms of dollar amounts, www.petersons.com will give you info as far as tuition costs, etc...

good luck.
