Were they talking about Kingdom, Phylum, Order, Family, Genus, or Species? I'm pretty sure it wasn't kingdom because then there wouldn't have been the clean vs. unclean thing, but did he bring 2 mammals, 2 reptiles, 2 amphibians?

Or was it 2 carnivorae, 2 microbiothirdiiae, 2 rodentiae, etc?

Or maybe it was family: 2 canidae, 2 felidae, 2 ursidae?

Or genus: 2 lupine, 2 vulpes, 2 lycaons?

Or species: 2 canis lupus (wolf), 2 canis aureus (jackal), 2 canis latrans (coyote)?

What about sub-species? If he just took the species, man's best friend the dog didn't even make it onto the ark! That would be a canis lupus familiaris... but that begs the breed question. Did he bring collies? German sheppherds? Daschunds? Or did he just pick 2 dogs and have done with it? If that's how it worked, where did chihuahuas come from?

Leading Creationist Scientists now suspect the animals on the ark were freeze dried. Afterwards Noah just added water and they poofed back into living animals again.

Good question. You know about and how breeding works right? Well domestic dogs like chihuahuas and labradors as well as countless others have been breed over the years - I mean just look at the poodle. That poor creature couldn't last on its own! The first dogs that Noah took onboard the Ark were probably in close relative to wolves. And dogs interbred with each other... and then some sick people caught on and started breeding for fun to see if they could create the "ultimate" dog. Like the poodle and the hairless rex cat - poor creatures. Same with all the animals really. People also say that dinosaurs couldn't possibly fit on the Ark - but they could cuz who said they were adult fully-grown dinos? No one! Some were only the size of chickens. They have almost all the answers there. ^_^ I really respect Dr. Ken Ham as a Christian scientist. Hope this shed some light on it for you!

There's this book that some people call the Bible. You should read it some time.

Genesis 7:2-3 Take with you seven [pairs] of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and two of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate, and also seven of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth.

Notice it wasnt just two of every animal but 7 pairs of some and only 2 pairs of others. "Every kind of" means to me every kind of animal. So if there were wolves, jackals, coyotes, and domesticated dogs; then he tokk them all. I believe in adaptation and specialization, so I dont think that at the time of Noah they had German shepards and collies. Those breeds were brought about by selective breeding. He also didnt have to "get" an artic fox and a woodland fox, because those came from the same fox family. As the land divided (Genesis 10:25, 1 Chronicles 1:19) and animals migrated, then they became suitable to different climates and environments.

It is an explanation, to the best of ability and knowledge then, for the origin of life forms on this planet Earth, their existence, successful reproduction, evolution and function for the past several million years.

It's all "allegory" in both "covenants": Galatians 4.

Science recently flooded the earth with researchers, and found the only thing common to man was a legend of the flood. Science also proved there was no ww flood. So then, let's look at it as allegory and mystery to solve, not literally nor historically, as we move on, from natural to spiritual, and compare spiritual things(laws) with spiritual(grace).

Take Note: in the Noah's Ark story both God and LORD are mentioned, and they give opposing commandments; And clever Noah does both:
- all God commanded: grace, AND
- all the LORD commanded: law
But such grace + law got him inducted into the hall of shame, not the hall of fame. For if you look closer at Hebrews 11 it says: these all died and received not the promise. Selah.

Not to mention you couldn't get all the creatures created into the size of the ark mentioned; No, not even if you took eggs rather than species. Not to mention fresh water fish can't take salt water, it kills them; Nor to salt water fish like fresh water.

So let's do the seek and find thing, find grace in time to help solve the mystery, lest all perish by law instead of none perish by grace. And let's note the end of the shew is already written, by his witness unto all men, who plays the last trump it in every epistle, every Pauline epistle:

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Good question. It is interesting how most everybody agrees it is metaphorical tale, which implies things didn't happen literally as it says in the Bible, and that makes me think that everything in the Bible is metaphorical and didn't happen literally as it says. Metaphor can create several ways of interpretation as well, that's why we differ so much in the same topic.

I don't have an answer to your question, but I agree with Mr Myers above. He is probably closer to the truth in my opinion, of course.

Peace!

Some would have wanted to eat each other. Was there an excrement shoveler included? What about the poisonous creatures? And there surely was an aviary, no?

There is no way that 2 of each animal would have fit into a boat and it stayed afloat. The story is metaphorical, trying to convey a deeper meaning with a simpler story that is more accessible to everyone.

The Bible doesnt give the detail you request, because they do not matter. You are not asking a question, you are making a statement.
