Average age for most is between 6-9 months, so you can expect a first heat any time. This is part of the reason spaying is suggested at 6 months, before the first heat.

At about 6-9 months. My Peke started at 9 months. If you're not thinking of breeding it would be best to get them spade now. Much healthier for them all around.

Why not get them to your Vet now and have them spayed before they come into season? They are little mixed breed dogs and will be wonderful companions to you. There really is no reason for them or you to have to endure even one season. By having it done before they go into season, you are cutting their chances of ever developing mammary cancer way down and eliminating ovarian or uterine cancer all together! They will live longer and healthier.
