what was your rank how long have you been out what is your mos if you were a SNCO in the Corps, they will look at you as being undecided and therefore will affect your promotions. however if you were NCO or below you'll have a better chance for promotions. if you are interested in benefits and bonuses the Army would probably your best bet but that depends on your MOS. i don't think you'll like Navy especially if you're an E6 or below and if you've experienced any type of floats aboard any of the acft carriers, you know what i'm talking about. what change your mind about re-entering the service? good luck, god bless and thank you for serving... I was in the United States Marine Corps. Graduated from Parris Island 29 Apr 1968. MOS was 0311 (known as a grunt, ground pounder).
I loved this branch, but hated the MOS. Hated long days of wet clothes, jungle, c-rations (the old style in a can, and the first of the MRE's issued) and an enemy always hiding and hard to see. The sound of bullets, rockets, yelling, and orders over the radio from some idiot miles away. Loved the smell of gunpowder (still do), riding in a chopper, throwing grenades, and last but not least, loved going home the most!
Finaly got smart and went into the air wing for another MOS, 3071 Aviation Supply, It was my job to beg, borrow, or steal parts needed to keep our choppers flying (usualy "borrowed" from the Navy supply wharehouse when no one was looking) but hey, in the Corps, you gotta do what ya gotta do for fellow Marines which still stands to this day

I was in the Army did avionic radar repair from 1996-2004. The Army was pretty good. I had decent chains of command for the most part and got to go to school. My mos got repetitive after awhile, and they are always trying to change paperwork. However I got to cross train a little bit and eventually did production control which I liked a lot better.

I served in The US Army Military Police Corps 95B from 82 - 88. I was overseas in Europe and assigned to MPI ( Military Police Investigations) and worked undercover narcs for 18 months, then hit the road squad and joined the SRT (Special Reaction Team - SWAT/ HRT) i came stateside and was assigned to a AWOL Apprehension Unit out of Ft. Meade MD. i also worked the streets on Patrol. i enjoyed my time in the Corps because not every day was the same thing. When not working as a Garrison Patrol unit or other Garrison Duties, we went to the field. It is not a time i would trade ever....

I'm currently in the Air Force doing network management(3C2X1). It's an awesome job. I absolutley love it but there is so much training that comes with the job. I used to be Air Traffic Control, (1C1X1)t hat is a really exciting job if it suits your personality. There's a lot of crazy people that live for that job!

Navy, F4 Phantom pilot. It was awsome!!!
Just kidding. I was in the navy but I was in Reactor Division on the USS George Washington (CVN 73). The money was great but the hours were rotating and long underway, which was pretty bad. The school for it was 2 years long and it was about 9 - 14 hours on weekdays, and 4 - 8 hours on the weekend. My brother's a ground pounder in the army so I wasn't allowed to complain about it during Chrismas unless I wanted a fight.
I never got shot at, though.
One more thing. Every one of these red flags is a port that I got to spent time in.

Marines since 92. I am an 0811 cannoneer. It is hard work but fun. We do a lot of infantry work now because of the war, but we still blow stuff up on the side. We just received a new howitzer. It is an impressive gun. Go to
youtube and search M777. Check it out.

I am a U.S. Army Combat Engineer. I love my job becuase we get to blow things up. We handle explosives all the time. We also do land mines, arming and disarming them is a rush. We also put up wire obsticals, thats the part I dont like. It a hard job at times but I get a overall feeling of satisfaction at the end of the day.
