Is the Mazda Tribute SUV a good car? Compared to a Toyota Camry. We need to trade in our car for an SUV and I was looking at the Tributes. I haven't mentioned it to my husband and being the big car guy that he is I don't want him to laugh at me. Thanks

I don't understand why people tell you there is not enough room, they are pieces of crap, etc.
You are shopping for the car, so you probably know how big it is and it is obvious it is a good vehicle since the consumer and editor ratings are decent.

The Tribute is based on the Ford Escape platform, so if you are considering one, I would also look into the Escape. If you decide you want this vehicle, the Escape will save you a lot of money for the same options.
The Mazda, however, will hold its value better.

You can't really compare a Tribute to a Camry. They both are good cars, but totally different.

I would suggest looking at some websites to get invoices, option packages, consumer opinions, and expert reviews.
I would also suggest test driving whatever you are interested in (Car or SUV) before purchasing and take your time.

My favorite site for research is edmunds.com

It is a good car. A friend of mine has one and has been reliable and it is not bad on gas.
Camry is a different car, and they have had some issues in the latest models.
You can not compare a Camry and a Tribute, they are totally different cars.

it lacks interior room. mazda built the Tribute in response to all the hype around SUVs. mazdas in general have crappy transmissions anyways. you're better off with the camry.

NOOOOOO.

THE MAZDA IS JUST AS BAD AS THE FORD ESCAPE BUT WITH A DIFFERENT NAME.

TRY LOOKING AT THE HONDA OR TOYOTA LINE OF SUV'S.

It's a rebadged FORD Escape.... so no, it's not a good car.

If reliability, resale value and refinement are important to you, buy the Honda CR-V.
