Please please please do not donate your hair to Locks of Love. I wont get into details but google locks of love scam. Your best bet is to contact wigs for kids. They are a 100% non profit place for you to donate your hair for children with medical conditions. I am a hairstylist at one of the aforementioned salons and we do take donations, but we have started to donate to wigs for kids instead of locks of love.

Locks for Love is the name of the organization that the hair is donated too. Most salons have information on this and can get you set up for a donation if you would like.
I am in Kansas City too.

Great Clips in our area participate in the Locks of Love program, they will give you a free haircut for the donation of 10 inches of your locks.

If you have kids, you want to live outside of the KC School district. If you can afford privet schools, Brookside is good for young families. If you are single, any where in the area. Kansas City is very spread out, so get use to driving!

Contact the local Cancer Society. Or go to the Esperanza (Hope) House and ask them. I have numerous friends who do this.
Some hairdressers also know where to send the hair. Our Police Dept does the honors too.

Definitely LOCKS OF LOVE. My neice donated, my daughter's friend donated twice, and an adult friend of mine is growing his hair long so he can donate it. They need your hair to be a certain length, and you need to get the details in advance on how the hair needs to be prepped and sent in.
