Jesus made it plain that not eveyone even those claiming to be his followers would be acceptable to him. Does God HAVE to GIVE you everlasting life? considering these scriptures, the answer is NO.

(Matthew 7:21-23) 21 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.

(Luke 13:23-24) . . . He said to them: 24 “Exert yourselves vigorously to get in through the narrow door, because many, I tell YOU, will seek to get in but will not be able. . .

So then what must you do to be accaptable?

(James 2:14-17) . . .Of what benefit is it, my brothers, if a certain one says he has faith but he does not have works?

(James 2:15-17) 15 If a brother or a sister is in a naked state and lacking the food sufficient for the day, 16 yet a certain one of YOU says to them: “Go in peace, keep warm and well fed,” but YOU do not give them the necessities for [their] body, of what benefit is it? 17 Thus, too, faith, if it does not have works, is dead in itself.

(James 4:4) . . .Adulteresses, do YOU not know that the friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world is constituting himself an enemy of God.

Do you KNOW WHAT BEING A FRIEND OF THE WORLD MEANS?

Everyone is covered, but not everyone accepts.
Those who cry "Lord, Lord" and Jesus confesses "I NEVER knew you" would be those who NEVER accepted Christ, but used the power of His Holy name. You do not have to have a relationship with Christ or believe the entire story of Christ to use his name.
Acts 19:13-16 Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, "In the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out." Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. (One day) the evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?" Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding.

Works do not gain anyone salvation. Works are what we as Christians do as a result of our salvation.
Ephesians 2: 8-10 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

What are the works that God requires?
John 6:28-29
Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?"
Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Romans 10:9-11:
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

John 6 Verse 35-40 "Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.""

Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord

Galations 5:1-15
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the righteousness for which we hope. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

You were running a good race. Who cut in on you and kept you from obeying the truth? That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you. "A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough." I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is throwing you into confusion will pay the penalty, whoever he may be. Brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished. As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!

You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

What happens if someone's works aren't all they should be?

1 Corinthians 3:10-15 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.

If there is belief then their will be evidence of that belief.

GOD offers the gift of salvation for EVERYONE, but not everyone would (and wants to) accept it..! faith GUIDES the good works..! if you really love and believe GOD, then you would do all you can to make Him happy, and to do this, you must be CHRIST-like in your behavior (serve rather than be served, give than receive, etc.)..! but you cannot be granted salvation just because of your good deeds..! salvation is given only through GOD's grace and not through good works, and will be given to those who truly believe that JESUS is the only way..! oh and being a friend of the world means showing to the world that you are His by testifying His love and loving others as well (CHRIST-like love <3)..! =]

God offers salvation to ALL. Read John 3:16-17.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

there has to be honest, deep, complete repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and it is open to all of the world. The word of God says so.

Seek Jehovah . . . Seek righteousness, seek meekness. Probably you may be concealed in the day of Jehovah’s anger.”
Zephaniah 2:3 says: “Probably you may be concealed in the day of Jehovah’s anger.” Why is the word “probably” used when addressing the “meek ones of the earth”? Well, those meek ones had taken positive steps, but there was no room for self-confidence. They had not come to the end of their life course in faithfulness. It was conceivable that some of them might fall into sin. The same is true of us. Jesus said: “He that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved.” (Matthew 24:13) Yes, salvation in the day of Jehovah’s anger depends upon our continuing to do what is right in his eyes.

Actually the price He paid is for anyone who accepts it. Read your verses in Matthew Jesus says He never knew them. They did not actually ever give their lives to Him. They were not truly saved. If they were then Jesus would not have denied ever knowing them. According to this question I believe you are suggesting we must have works to be saved. Would not prophesying in the name of Jesus, casting out demons, and doing many WORKS in His name be works? I guess it is not works that save you but faith.

Repent! If you were outside the law, then you did not know it, but it you say that you believe in Christ, and have accepted him, then you must have studied him and therefore now you know the law and to follow his commands. Before you knew him you were outside the law, now that you know him you have forgiveness if you; Believe in Him, Repent of your sins, Confess him openly, and are baptized into his death, burial and resurrection- If you have truly accepted Christ and continue to sin, now you are susceptible to the law, and will be judged accordingly. And of course if you don't accept him after all the time you have had to try to get to know him, you will be judged accordingly as well. Jesus commands us to love one another and share the Gospel it's not hard work, but it's a difficult job.

I think that we are saved by faith through Jesus. I think the only way to get to heaven is through Jesus. But at the sametime you should do good works out of reverence to the Lord. Your works are not going to get you into Heaven. But at the sametime if you have God's love within you you will do good works.

Have you considered that god did not have to demand a ransom price from his son? He makes the rules after all a did not need to design the world in a twisted, sadistic way that required sacrifices.

I do not know what being a friend of the world means. I do know that 1) the Christian deity is untenable, and 2) the evidence strongly suggests that there was no historical Jesus (1). Which means I know that your question is nonsense.
