I'm not sure about that...but i know that the Bible clearly refers to women as "helpers".
Genesis 2:80
"The Lord God said, 'It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him."

Not really. The Bible doesn't treat women as inferior.
The Old testament is historical in nature, it deals with the past. Whether we like it or not, that was the nature of society at that time.
Man is asked to love his wife like Christ loved the church, that's not inferior. Christ laid down his life for the church, to get that kind of devotion from a man is the ultimate form of respect.
I don't consider brazen foolishness as displayed in a media as an example of woman's freedom. Right to choose does not equate to better quality of life.

first, would you like to cite instances of women being treated inferior BY GOD? i understand that other men would, but taht was the culture at the time, and the bible is historical. for the record, two books are named after women, esther and ruth, both of which are the only two women (other than mary) to be mentioned in the geneology of Jesus. second, the slavery is much much different than the slavery that occured in America. Slaves were to be respected and treated with dignity. check the link for some more info.

Open your eyes and see clearly, you are wrong. God has no favorites and he is not a racist. What you say is strange but it is not the truth. Proverbs 31:10-31.What is a virtuous woman.
You have to agree with me that all women and men do not go into the church to worship God. Some go to find a love that they could possibly call their own.
God is often second when he should be first. Get the message and live. What is her smorgasbord? God said choose life that you and your kin shall live.

Men are suppose to love their wives just as Christ loves the Church. Jesus treated women with the utmost respect and compassion. Maybe men didn't treat their wives with much respect before Jesus came and taught them these things. Being Middle Eastern, they probably didn't. Men were more important. There are many heroic women in the Bible.

Slavery was a fact, It is not condoned. Jesus said Their is neither man nor woman Greek or Jew all are children under God. It never says any thing against Blacks. You can't just pick a few words from a verse and understand Gods words. The two great commandments are Love God, and Love your fellow man as you love yourself..where is the bigotry, and hatred you talk about in that.

Yes. Especially seeing what's written in the Catholic Bible. Here's just a little taste. "Give me any plague, but the plague of the heart: and any wickedness, but the wickedness of a woman." - Eccles. 25:13
"Of the woman came the beginning of sin, and through her we all die." - Eccles. 25:22
"A silent and loving woman is a gift of the Lord: and there is nothing so much worth as a mind well instructed. A shamefaced and faithful woman is a double grace, and her continent mind cannot be valued." - Eccles. 26:14-15
"For from garments cometh a moth, and from women wickedness. Better is the churlishness of a man than a courteous woman, a woman, I say, which bringeth shame and reproach." - Eccles. 42:13-14
And, of course, thanks to the Apostle Paul, the New Testament protestant bible is not without it's share in keeping the status of women inferior. "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church." - I Corinthians 14:34-35 . "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything." - Ephesians 5:22-24
There aren't too many examples of the condonation of slavery in the bible, but here is one..."Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids." - Leviticus 25:44 , KJV

Black people in the US who accept Christianity have accepted religious imperialism, while simultaneously trying to free themselves from political and social imperialism. It is impossible to attempt both of these positions and have either work.
Women are marginalized at best in the Bible, which is why I have a hard time fathoming Christian Feminism (or any Abrahamic form for that matter).

In the Christian system of things, women are to be honored.
Paul said to treat one's wife the same as one would treat themselves.
It was first to women that Christ appeared after resurrection.
At the end of many letters, greetings are sent to women and they are spoken of with high regard.

Speaking to the women issue, I think women find it easier to follow Christianity because so many of them are used to being told what to think and what to do for their entire lives. They go directly from their father's house to their husband's house without passing go or collecting $200.
Eve even ate the forbidden fruit based on what someone else told her about it. Adam just did it because he wanted to--he wasn't tricked. Men are allowed to think for themselves, and so belief in Something that would limit their autonomy is probably not as attractive to them.
