First off, you can love money and not be evil. I know many more evil poor people than evil rich people, and most sexual predators come from poor trailer families. I love me some moneys (lol), but I'm not evil.
I think that hate is the root of all evil. Or sometimes bitterness. Or sometimes evil people are just crazy.

Selfishness is the root of all evil.
Think about it. Virtually every woe and evil on this planet can be traced directly to selfishness . . . all the way back to Eve and Adam. Selfishness was here long before man learned to love money.

I think greed is . Hate and envy comes from greed .
Fear is when we think something is going to hurt or kill us . To respond to true fear is not evil .
Ignorance can be a virtue if one recognizes that we are all ignorant in certain areas and we strive to correct that when we need to , if not sooner .
The love of money is close to greed , but all things can not be bought .

There are many roots of evil, the Bible identifies the "love" of money as one. Perhaps all of the roots find their home in and are nourished by the soil of Selfishness.

The LOVE OF MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL.
Just think what some people do for the love of money. They murder, kill, rob, hurt other human beings, and much more all because they LOVE MONEY. That's evil !!!
