Dear "Cheir" - You said all those words of qualifications, ,, and you didn't say one thing about Jesus' sermons or advice on how to get to Heaven. - How can someone be a "Christian" if they don't follow or try to follow Jesus' advice; advice that witnesses to your heart? -- smiles

It would totally depend on the circumstances. I try not to have preconceived notions of what someone may or may not do based on one comment. For instance, if I were in an accident and was injured, if the first person on the scene said "I am a Christian," I would expect them to offer to pray for me, hopefully while dialing for an ambulance! We all know the claim of being Christian has come to mean so many different and often conflicting beliefs, I just have to give them the benefit of the doubt that we may respect one another, whether or not we agree on doctrine.

Click at the hyperlinks beneath to be trained the lessons of the Wachtower Bible and Tract Society. A few verses will also be convincingly utilized by fans of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society to justify the "have to now not record" above. The Jehovah's Witnesses already realize the record what they have no idea is Jesus. Attacking motives them to dig of their heels even if they've been proven to be flawed. Christians don't do many matters both considering that they don't seem to be of God Almighty or the lessons of Jesus, Often persons simply criticise the Jehovah's Witnesses as a substitute than plant seeds. People permit a dialogue to change into a scripture debate as a substitute than teach. Find out what they've doubts approximately. How? They will preclude speakme approximately those. All JWs have doubts however worry bringing those up. You would possibly wish handy them a broadcast reproduction of hyperlink 3 beneath. You would possibly wish to learn and print out the Christian apologetics approximately the Watchtower in hyperlink 4. There is such a lot documented expertise that if any JW used to be open minded and regarded they could flip clear of The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. The Watchtower slides convincing doctrine beyond a "research" and hooks the individual in earlier than they've a threat to seem into the historical past. If a individual does the lecturers simply declare it's the paintings of persons that had been former JWs referred to as apostates. Later that is referred to as the paintings of Satan. No subject how secular the supply. The variant on Satan's lie within the lawn that the Watchtower makes use of is that "you shall surly now not die" however have everlasting lifestyles in paradise. Many JWs have doubts to the veracity of the Watchtower however are afraid to impeach be motive of complete shunning in which in a individual loses all loved ones and peers that a nurtured and robust dependence has constructed on. By the time a individual is permitted for baptism they've divested themselves of just about all nonJW relationships or even loved ones. So being disfellowshipped and kept away from is a robust gadget and deterrent to wondering the group. The individual then demands to increase cognitive dissonance pondering and varieties of denial to stay a JW. Since JWs are in general in robust denial approximately the real historical past it's in general first-class to exhibit the mistake in theology and look forward to God Almighty via the Holy Spirit to provide them open eyes and the force to depart the fake prophet.

Saying you're a Christian means nothing. Now if you said that you believed Christ is God, that he resurrected from the dead (and is alive today) and was born of a virgin (establishing his sinless nature) then I would believe you were a Christian.

When someone tells me they're Christian, it is normally because I asked, so the usual response is "what [religion] are you?"
If the person is trying to bombard you with "get saved propaganda", they don't normally even say they are Christian, they just start right in on denouncing your faith and beliefs.

I expect the words "Jesus" and "saved" sometimes. "Born again", as well.
